Location: Hybrid.
Job Type: Full-Time / Contract.
Rate: £500 - £550 per day.

Job Description:
As a Data Centre Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in our data centres. You will work closely with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure that systems are commissioned to the highest standards. Your role will involve hands on testing, troubleshooting, and final verification of all systems before handover to the client. BMS knowledge and experience is desired.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform commissioning activities on mechanical, electrical, and control systems in data centres.
• Conduct thorough testing and inspections of data centre equipment, including cooling systems, electrical distribution, UPS, generators, and fire suppression systems.
• Develop and execute commissioning plans, reports, and schedules to ensure project timelines are met.
• Work with the project management team to ensure that all systems meet operational and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during commissioning processes.
• Liaise with clients to provide progress updates and resolve any concerns.
• Support and mentor junior commissioning engineers, ensuring high quality standards are maintained.
• Document and track commissioning results, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and client specifications.
Key Requirements:
• Proven experience in commissioning mechanical, electrical, or data centre systems (minimum of 3 years).
• Strong understanding of data centre operations and critical infrastructure systems.
• Experience with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems commissioning.
• Excellent knowledge of HVAC, power distribution, backup power systems, and fire safety systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Relevant commissioning qualifications (CIBSE, BREEAM) preferred.
• Experience in large scale data centre projects is a plus.
